Behind the Scenes: How I Wrap and Package Your Books

The magic that happens before your order arrives at your door.

There’s something special about holding a physical book — the weight of it, the smell of the pages, the sense that you’re about to slip into another world.
But for me, the magic doesn’t start on page one.

It starts long before that…
with string, paper, wax, and a quiet moment at my desk.

I’ve always wanted my books to feel like a gift — something worth unwrapping, something that says you matter the moment it lands in your hands. When I began selling my books directly, I knew I wanted every single package to carry a little bit of that wonder.

So today, I thought I’d share a peek behind the scenes.
Here’s exactly how I wrap your books, and why I take the time to make each one feel magical.

1. The Brown Paper

There’s something timeless and comforting about brown paper. It feels like old-world parcels, secret letters, or treasures waiting to be opened.

Every book starts with this:
a sheet of paper wrapped snugly around your books and, folded by hand. It’s simple and classic — exactly the feeling I want before the story even begins.

2. The String

The string is one of my favorite parts. I tie every package with a simple bow — not because it’s necessary, but because little details matter.

It’s also the moment I usually think about who I’m sending the order to.
A real person.
A new reader.
Someone stepping into these worlds with me.

It’s a quiet connection, but a meaningful one.

3. The Wax Seal

This is where the magic clicks into place.

I melt the wax with a real flame, wait for the perfect moment, and press my seal in. (Then obsess over if it's a good enough job or not.) It’s quick, but it carries so much meaning — it turns an ordinary package into something meant just for you.

And because you can’t truly describe a wax-sealed package without showing one…

✨ Here’s a real example from my holiday batches:

One of my readers, Bob Walker, said it best:

“The wrapping of each set of books is some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. What incredible presentation!”
Bob Walker

His words meant the world — because that’s exactly what I hope readers feel when they open their box.

4. Signed, Sealed, Sent With Care

Every book I send is signed.
Every bundle is checked twice.
Every box is cushioned, taped, labeled, and carried out the door by me.

It’s personal.
It’s intentional.
It’s something I genuinely love doing.

Because your reading experience should feel magical before you even turn the first page.

5. Why I Do It

I do it because books should feel like gifts — even when you buy them for yourself.
Because you’ve trusted me with your time, your imagination, your heart.

And because you deserve something beautiful.

Thank you for supporting my shop, my stories, and my dream.
You make every wax seal worth it.

And as always —
may your reading be magical.
